Alby Hub: A One-Click Lightning Node Connected To All Your Bitcoin Apps
Alby Hub is an open-source tool that enables users to run their own node and connect to Bitcoin apps. It features one-click Lightning node installation, a self-custodial wallet, and an app store for seamless integration of social media, Podcasting 2.0 apps, and external Lightning wallets via NWC.
- "Users can now sign up for Alby Hub via the Alby Hub waitlist to start running their own node with Alby, making their Bitcoin Lightning payments fully sovereign," Alby said in a press release shared with No Bullshit Bitcoin.
“At Alby, we always focused on building tools and protocols to natively use the Lightning Network on the web like the Alby Extension, which changed the way Lightning is used in web browsers. With Alby Hub, we are now taking Lightning Network self-custody to the next level by rethinking the utility behind running a lightning node. What does a node and wallet look like that can integrate with any bitcoin-powered app with just a few clicks? With Alby Hub, users now have endless possibilities for self-sovereign payments on the web without the technical overhead," said Alby Founder Michael Bumann.
- Existing Alby users can upgrade their setup and easily migrate funds from their Alby Web wallet to their own node on Alby Hub today.
- In addition to a Lightning node, self-custodial wallet, and app store, Alby Hub offers card top-ups and integrated LSP services for simplified channel management.
Users can opt for the paid Alby Hub Cloud plan at 21,000 sats per month. The plan provides a one-click installation option and includes live channel management and setup support, along with access to the Alby Buzz community.
- Alby Hub is also available as a free, open-source DIY setup that can run on personal servers, desktops, or even Raspberry Pi Zero.
