Bisq2 v2.1.2: Optimized Reputation System & Chat Consolidation

Bisq is a secure, private and decentralized bitcoin P2P exchange network. Bisq2 is set to be the successor to Bisq v1 and will support multiple trade protocols, multiple privacy networks and multiple identities.

Bisq2 v2.1.2: Optimized Reputation System & Chat Consolidation
  • "Bisq v2.1.2 has been released, offering an improved reputation system, easier to follow chat rooms and more flexible offer book filtering," announced the project.
  • Trades up to $25 no longer require seller reputations, easing entry for new sellers and boosting small trade liquidity. Topic-specific chat rooms are now consolidated into Chat and Support sections, combining public discussions and private chats in one screen.

What's new

  • Reputation system enhancements. The reputation system has been updated to improve security and trading experience:
    • Trade limits are now directly tied to the seller's reputation score.
    • Reputation gained through burned or bonded BSQ will double over the first year.
    • Relaxed reputation requirements for trades up to $25.
    • The minimum required reputation score has been removed.
  • Chat rooms consolidated. Chats have been consolidated into Chat and Support sections based on user feedback. Messages from removed chats have been migrated to these new areas as appropriate.
    • Bisq Easy > Offerbook chat;
    • Bisq Easy > My open trades counterparty chats;
    • Support > Assistance tab;
    • Chat > Discussion tab;
    • Chat > Private chats tab.
  • More flexible offer book filtering. "Offer listings can now be sorted and filtered more granularly by parameters including price, payment method and on-chain (BTC) vs. off-chain (LN) settlement. Try shift-clicking on column headings to set secondary sort conditions," said the developers.
  • Fixed notification issues.
  • Fixed application version in user profile.
  • Many additional fixes and improvements.

NOTE: In version 2.1.0, the application Bisq 2 was renamed to Bisq2 (without space). Users running v2.0.9 or earlier should manually delete or uninstall the old Bisq 2 application after updating to avoid potential data directory corruption. However, the existing Bisq 2 data directory should not be deleted, only the outdated application.
