bitaxeGamma: 5th Major Revision with BM1370 ASIC from Antminer S21 Pro
bitaxeGamma is the 5th major revision of the fully open-source bitaxe Bitcoin ASIC miner, now including the BM1370 ASIC from the Antminer S21 Pro.
- "The bitaxeGamma is go! The newest member in the BitAxe lineup features the BM1370 ASIC from the Antminer S21 Pro. So far we've been able to pull 1 - 1.2 TH/s at around 15 J/TH from a single chip," announced @skot9000.

- The bitaxeGamma features a BM1370 Bitcoin mining ASIC from Bitmain's Antminer S21 Pro. Although not open-source, Bitmain claims the BM1370's efficiency is 15 J/TH, and bitaxeGamma achieves close to this.
The Antminer S21 Pro has a nominal hashrate of 234 TH/s, using 195 chips across three hashboards. The bitaxeGamma uses a single BM1370 chip, delivering approximately 1.2 TH/s per unit.
- The BM1370 is brand new and isn't available individually yet. The best place to get these chips is right out of a S21 Pro.
- The BM1370 has a different footprint and pinout from the BM1368, BM1366, BM1397 and BM1387 in previous bitaxe.
"Prototype BitaxeGamma 600x have been built and are hashing! There might still be HW issues. Initial BM1370 firmware support has been added to esp-miner. This still needs some work. Be sure to check the HW issues for known bugs, reworks and errata," states the project's repository.
- "This is an advanced build! You can do it, but if you're not looking for a project, it might be best to buy one pre-assembled from one of the many sellers. Check Skot's method of hand assembling PCBs," states the developer.
