Clams Remote v2.2.0: Close Channels, Deprecated Native App & UX Improvements
Clams Remote lets you control your Core Lightning node(s) via the lightning network from any web enabled device.
- "v2.2.0 of Remote just released," announced Clams.
- This version includes ability to close channels, bitcoind and lightningd sync status warnings, option to expose private channels when creating invoices, 'spend all' option when opening channels, and other improvements.
"Finally, inspired by feedback from @AustinBTCclub, we made numerous UI tweaks to enhance the overall UX of the app," said the project.
What's new
- Close channels. "You can now close channels. The app allows a mutual close first, and if needed, offers the option to force close the channel."
- Bitcoind and lightningd sync status warnings. "CLN connections on the wallets page will now show a warning if either bitcoind or lightningd is not fully synced."
- Option to expose private channels when creating invoices. "When creating invoices, you now have the option to expose private channels to improve the reliability of receives."
- "Spend all" option when opening channels. "When opening channels, you can now view the spendable balance and opt to "spend all" to fund the channel with the max remaining balance."
- Added Alby proxy as an option to the wallet connection flow to simplify use for Tor lightning nodes.
- Deprecated the native app to focus development on self-hosting. "The native app has been deprecated with this release. This will allow us to focus on the web application and other projects, such as the recent addition of Remote to the StartOS community registry."
- Updated "larp mode" for LNPlay users to allow only one wallet connection. "To improve the user experience for "lightning larps" with LNPlay, we reworked the wallet connection flow to permit only one CLN node connection at a time. Shout out to @farscapian for help with testing."
- Fixed broken link to documentation.
- Simplified the add wallet flow by defaulting to CLN.
- Fixed UI issue on payments page for mobile users.
- Updated button sizing on the /input route for easier option selection.
- Improved input/scan copy to reduce confusion.
