El Salvador to Bring Bitcoin Education in Public Schools as Part of Curriculum in 2024
The Ministry of Education of El Salvador and the nonprofit, nongovernmental organization Mi Primer Bitcoin partnered to add Bitcoin education to public school curriculum by 2024.
- "Mi Primer Bitcoin NGO has partnered with the Ministry of Education to train 150 teachers, spreading financial knowledge across the nation's classrooms," announced Volcano Energy.
- "In 2024, every public school in El Salvador will introduce Bitcoin education."
- In an interview with Cointelegraph, John Dennehy, the founder of Mi Primer Bitcoin, confirmed the announcement and said training for the pilot program begins on Sept. 7 with assistance from Bitcoin Beach.
"The Bitcoin diploma program will be taught to 150 public school teachers from 75 schools to provide them with a “base knowledge” of Bitcoin."
- Dennehy added that after the initial training, the teachers will return to their own schools and teach from the curriculum created by the Ministry of Education.
- “If successful,” he said, “the program will be rolled out to every school in the country next year.”
"Together with @EducacionSV and @Bitcoinbeach, we're writing history by bringing Bitcoin education to public schools in 2024," said Mi Primer Bitcoin on X.
