European Bitcoin Energy Association (EBEA) Launched to Inform Policy Makers About Bitcoin Mining
EBEA platform aims to support a Bitcoin-friendly EU by collecting and providing empirical evidence for informed policy decisions regarding Bitcoin mining and its impact on energy infrastructure.

- "After half a year of hard work getting all ducks in a row, we are now live with the European Bitcoin Energy Association," announced Rachel Geyer on X.
"We need all the support we can get to help us achieve our 2024 goals (see website for details). If you also have an interest in a bitcoin/bitcoin mining friendly EU, please consider applying for membership or donating to the cause. Thanks in advance."
- "Founding members of the Association include Scilling Digital Mining, Prosperity Digital, Braiins, Börse Stuttgart Digital Holding GmbH, Coinfinity GmbH, Roman Reher („Blocktrainer“) and terahash.energy GmbH as well as other knowledgeable individuals from the fields of European climate and energy policymaking."
- The establishment of the organization is timely as European Commission is reportedly planning to label Bitcoin as environmentally harmful following an €800000 study announced back in October last year.
