HRF Bitcoin Development Fund Grants 10 BTC to 20 Projects Worldwide
The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) announced 1 billion satoshis (10 BTC) in grants from its Bitcoin Development Fund.
- This round of grants targets technical education in authoritarian regions, Bitcoin development conferences, decentralized mining, and privacy-focused financial solutions for human rights groups, especially in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
The list of grantees include:
- African Bitcoiners - community for Bitcoin education in Africa.
- Stratospher, a Bitcoin Core developer working on P2P network privacy and protocol decentralization.
- Coracle. Nostr web client developed by hodlbod. Existing and planned features include customizable social feeds, private messaging, and encrypted communities.
- Harbor, an open-source ecash wallet aimed at improving Bitcoin privacy.
- The 256 Foundation - an organization working to advance free and open-source Bitcoin mining ecosystem.
- Kiveclair: Bitcoin education community in Democratic Republic of Congo.
- Jeff Gardner, developer working on Nostr group and encrypted messaging.
- Silentium - a privacy-oriented Bitcoin wallet with Silent Payments.
- BTC Shule: Bitcoin education in Burundi by Belyï Nobel Kubwayo.
- EttaWallet, an open-source, mobile Lightning wallet by Collin Rukundo.
- Tor relay operator associations as recommended by the Tor Project.
- Rikto Xonghoti: Bitcoin education initiative focused on creating a Bitcoin circular economy in Assam, India.
- Yes Bitcoin Haiti - a grassroots Bitcoin education organization in Haiti.
- Bitcoin Indonesia: an educational Bitcoin initiative and conference in Indonesia.
- Bitcoin++: a Bitcoin-only developer conference series by Lisa Neigut.
- TABConf, a Bitcoin developer conference hosted by Michael Tidwell in Atlanta.
- Baltic Honeybadger: Non-profit Bitcoin OG conference by Hodl Hodl.
- LaBitconf and Descentralizar - two annual Bitcoin conferences in Argentina.
- Satsconf. South America's largest Bitcoin conference held in São Paulo.
- Solidarity Summit: Vienna-based event by Hager Eissa for political prisoners and human rights advocates.
