"We are pleased to announce the ninth wave of grants from our General Fund, supporting a new selection of projects that enhance open-source innovation, privacy, and accessibility within the Bitcoin ecosystem," announced the non-profit in a blog post.

The four projects in this wave are:

  • Kibo.money. Kibo is a free, open-source, self-hostable Bitcoin data generator and visualizer. It offers a global network view, a real-time API, and a robust interface, enhancing transparency and trust for researchers, developers, and enthusiasts.
  • El Tor. El Tor is a high-bandwidth Tor fork using Bitcoin Lightning Network incentives. Users earn sats by hosting relays and sharing bandwidth, addressing Tor's limitations and supporting anonymous communication
  • Nutstash. Nutstash is a multi-platform Cashu ecash wallet with integrated Lightning and nostr functionality. It supports secure, private Bitcoin transactions with features such as full wallet encryption, mint discovery, nostr-wallet-connect, and seed-based recovery.
  • rust-bitcoin is a low-level Bitcoin library in Rust for interacting with the Bitcoin network. It is foundational for projects like Bitcoin Dev Kit (BDK) and Lightning Dev Kit (LDK), providing reliability and correctness. It also supports language bindings, allowing developers from various ecosystems to use its features.
