OpenSats Issues Eight Wave of Bitcoin Grants
"OpenSats is proud to announce its eighth wave of Bitcoin grants, dedicated to supporting innovative open-source projects that enhance the growth and resilience of the Bitcoin ecosystem," announced the organization.
- This wave grants support to four outstanding projects:
- Citadel-Tech. Citadel-Tech enhances Bitcoin privacy using the Maxwell-Belcher atomic swap protocol from 2013, enabling private Bitcoin UTXO transfers that appear as standard Taproot transactions, offering "passive privacy" even for non-users.
- Lampo. It is an open-source project for creating a modular, customizable Lightning node. It integrates with the Lightning Development Kit (LDK) and LNprototest, featuring a swappable API, wallet, on-chain data source, and plugin system.
- Cashu Nutshell is an open-source Chaumian ecash system enhancing privacy for custodial Bitcoin users through anonymous transactions, private exchanges via mints, and integration with decentralized platforms like nostr, featuring private receipts and Proof of Liabilities.
- PickhardtPayments Plugin seeks to enhance Lightning Network payment efficiency with the Pickhardt-Richter model. Integrated via the renepay plugin in Core Lightning, it uses Bayesian analysis and Minimum Cost Flow algorithms to optimize Multi-Path Payments, reducing failures from liquidity shortages, especially for smaller nodes.
