Relai App Users Must Verify Accounts by October 31 or Stop Using the Service
Relai, a Swiss-based app for buying bitcoin directly to self-custody, announced that all users must verify their accounts by October 31, 2024.
"Starting now, all unverified Relai users must complete a quick verification process by October 31, 2024. After October 31, only verified users can use Relai. Unverified users will need to complete the verification step to access all app features, including buy orders and wallet functions. However, you can always retrieve your 12-word backup phrase and your Bitcoin will remain safely in your self-custody," explained the service in a blog post.
- Relai users are prompted to set up a non-custodial Relai wallet upon signing up. They can also send their purchases to an external Bitcoin wallet.
- "We must now require verification for all users and eliminate non-verification limits. Although we’ve been trying and hoping to find a different solution, this change is necessary," Relai said.
"An important benefit of this change will be our ability to fast-track the implementation of a new European IBAN and Instant SEPA for all European users," added the company.
