Wasabi Wallet v2.4.0: Send to Silent Payment Addresses
  • Wasabi Wallet v2.4.0 introduces support for sending to Silent Payment addresses, adds a donate button, implements Testnet 4 support, provides release notes in the client, and includes several bug fixes.
"Wasabi is now one of the first wallet to support send to Silent Payment addresses, and we hope that more wallets will join! We are working on allowing receiving, please bear with us!" was stated in the release notes.
  • The project developers also said they are evaluating potential privacy risks from sophisticated coordinator attacks and will soon publish a detailed statement along with a plan of action if necessary.

What's new

  • Send to Silent Payment addresses. Silent Payments are privately reusable static addresses that allow Bitcoin transfers like regular addresses, but prevent observers from linking multiple payments to the same address.
    • A list of wallets supporting Silent Payments is available here.
  • Donation Button. A donate button to support Wasabi Wallet's maintenance and development has been added to the main screen. It uses Silent Payments.
  • Testnet 4. Instead of Testnet3, Wasabi now uses Testnet 4.
  • Release Notes in the client. Release notes highlights are now available in the client. They are displayed at the first launch after an update.

Other changes

  • Update NBitcoin version.
  • Fix some layout regressions.
  • Use Key instead of ExtKey.
  • Fix Wallet has no key chain.
  • Fix import json from ColdCard Q.
  • Add P2SH as unknown script types.
